Faith Like Potatoes

Posted by arbusch

Glenda and  I just  watched the movie, “Faith Like Potatoes”.  I highly recommend that you watch it if  you have a chance.

From the Sony Pictures website:

“Synopsis

Based on the novel Faith Like Potatoes, this inspiring film tells the story of Angus Buchan, a South African farmer who suffers a series of seemingly insurmountable losses, but through an unlikely friendship with his Zulu farmhand and divine interventions, discovers the key to healing himself and learning to accept others lies in his unwavering belief in the power of faith.”

It has some pretty dramatic scenes that might be too much for those under 12. But for everyone else it will inspire and challenge you.

And Remember, “For a miracle the situation must be difficult, for a great miracle it must be impossible.”

For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

Posted by arbusch

I thought I would share some verses on God’s Word. May God be blessed.

Ps 119:89
89 For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
KJV

Ps 119:11
11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
KJV

Ps 119:105
105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
KJV

Ps 119:160
160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.
KJV

Jer 15:16
16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.
KJV

John 1:1-5, 14
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
KJV

Grace Community Church, North Liberty, Iowa

Posted by arbusch

It was our privilege and joy to attend Grace Community Church, Oct. 4th with our son Paul. Pastor Brooks Simpson preached a sermon entitled “Brokenness Road to Renewal: Why WE Need The Spirit.” One of the thought provoking questions he asked was, ” What do we want our Church to be: A movement, a monument or a Christian Mall.”

If you are in the Iowa City area looking for a church to attend I would encourage you to check out Grace Community Church.
