I KILLED JESUS

Posted by arbusch

I’ve heard people debate over the years,”Who killed Jesus?” Some will say that the Romans killed Jesus. Others blame it on the Jews. But what does the Bible say.

Rom 5:6-8
6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

1 Cor 15:3-4
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

So Christ died because of sin and for sinners. Who has sinned?

Rom 3:23
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Rom 5:12
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Christ didn’t die for his own sins, because he was without sin.

Heb 4:15
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

It was sin that killed Jesus. My sin. Your sin.

He wants to forgive our sins, he wants to make us clean. That is why he died for you and for me.

1 John 1:8-10
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Rom 10:9-10
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

If you do what these scripture say you can be free from your sin. Free from the guilt. Free from the shame.

Rom 10:11
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Who killed Jesus? You killed Jesus! I killed Jesus.

But, thank God for the gift of  His forgiveness.

Those Who Refuse to Love The Truth

Posted by arbusch

2 Thess 2:10b-12
They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.
(from New International Version)

It is sad today to see so many around us who refuse to love the Truth. We live in  a time where the majority don’t want to admit to anything  being really true or false, right or wrong, black or white. They live in a gray muddy mixture of personal opinion without any absolutes. A philosophy of what seems right believe it and whatever feels good do it.

But God is real and His Word is true. And one of these days we will all stand before His throne and answer to the  Truth.

Rom 3:4
Let God be true, and every man a liar.
(from New International Version)

Remember the Truth  is  in Jesus.

FAITH, HOPE, LOVE

FAITH, HOPE, LOVE

Alvin R. Buschman  8-23-2009 Baxter Springs, KS

These are the scriptures I used in a sermon today at Baxter Chapel Apostolic Faith Church. With a couple of extra that I didn’t have time to use.
1 Cor 12:27-13:13
27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.
1 Corinthians 13
13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. (KJV)

1 Thess 1:3-4
3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
4 Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.(KJV)

John 13:34-35
34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (KJV)

John 15:12-14
12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.(KJV)

2 John 5-6
5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.(KJV)

Eph 3:17-19
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. (KJV)

I am begging you to fight for the faith which God passed on to the holy people once for all time. Jude 3b (The Simple English Bible)
